We've got some persistent south winds so we're hanging in Vero a
little while longer to try and avoid heading into them.

Things are good. Not much to report.

Underway

Rick Jacob and I, joined by Dan Johnson took the first leg of our trip
yesterday from daytona to Titusville. Dan was only able to spend the
first day with us (he's a busy guy) but it was great to have him
along. We anchored outside of the Titusville marina in perfect
conditions. Right now Rick and I are southbound to Vero Beach where
we'll spend tomorrow waiting out a storm.

Casting Off

This morning, Monday Nov 30th, my old buddy Rick Jacob and I will be leaving for a Bahamas trip on Serenity. Last night, we convinced our mutual old friend Dan Johnson to join us for the first day of the trip - down to Titusville.

I'll be posting from the trip. I'll fly back home at Christmas, then Jan will join me for the month of January. We'll be back in time for me to go back to work for the Daytona 500 in Feb.

The week in Key Largo/Homestead

I'm at the final race of the season. It's a wonderful thing to be at the end of a season and have that "last day of school" feeling. We're staying at the Hilton Resort in Key Largo and since we're all Hilton Honors Gold VIP members, we've all been upgraded to nice waterfront rooms. I'm really enjoying getting up before sunrise and watching the sky light up the and water go from black, to steely grey to blue.

The crew has such a fun time here and I'm very happy I work with such a fun group of people.

After Sunday's race, we'll break down the equipment for the last time - until Daytona in February. I'll be heading off to the Bahamas for the winter in my boat. My buddy Rick Jacob will spend December with me - helping me take the boat over. We'll then fly back, I'll spend Christmas at home and then Jan and I will fly back to the boat for the month of January.

I plan to keep the blog updated during the winter.
